My most worshipable master Srila Govinda Maharaj,

Please accept my repeated obeisance in the dust of your holy footprints.

To serve you is the perfection of my life Srila Gurudev, for you are the affectionate giver of real Krishna consciousness. Whosoever shows even a slight interest in the gift of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is the recipient of your grace and who surrenders to you becomes heir to the land of positive and progressive immortality.

The precious gift of the Rupanuga sampradaya, the wealth of your Divine Master Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami, the treasure of Krishna-prema has been widely distributed throughout the universe by the rays of your lotus feet and the warmth of your beatific smile. Oh such a fortune, you once travelled this world and embraced even low sinners like me and so have given meaning to our lives.

Although we no longer have the fortune of your manifest presence we can continue to have your association by following your instructions and serving you in separation. Necessarily this means the service of your Mission, the service of your Deities, and the service of your Devotees. In your separation we must not forget that we are always servants, we are small and we are insignificant. You are our guide and our guiding light. If we are true to our ideal then we will clearly see the way forward and not be deceived by the illusion of our own self-promotion to the rank of ‘master’.

Your teachings are clear: to serve with Humility, Tolerance, and Giving Honour. You are the personification of these divine qualities and your true followers reflect these qualities in their own aspiration and dealings with one another. Happily I wish the company of and the opportunity to serve them birth after birth.

Your own life is the perfect example of selfless service and self-sacrifice, of divine generosity, and the living testimony of man endowed with divine grace. We need look no further to see the fulfilment of Mahaprabhu Chaitanyadev’s vision of spiritual revolution and revelation as it is perfectly embodied in you.

When we seem to be on the brink of the victory of a hatred and rancour only previously restrained by the strength of your manifest will, we will take refuge in the knowledge that Lord Sri Krishna is the Reality and by His very nature, Reality is beautiful, sympathetic, kind, and generous. And though we may be weak and prone to be overcome by negativity and illusion, the waves of His beauty, His sympathy, His kindness, and His generosity will continue to save and rescue us. The gentle hand of Sri Gurudev lifts us into that Reality and we are beggars of your grace. Param vijayate Sri Krishna sankirtanam!
