Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj held a grand festival at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math Siliguri in honour of the anniversary of Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharva Govindasundar’s installation there and installed a Deity of Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Devotees from all over Bengal and the West spent three days chanting Srila Govinda Maharaj’s glories and preaching throughout the city.
At the request of Srila Acharya Maharaj, an arch was constructed over the main thoroughfare leading to the Math by a local councilman and the mayor of the city attended the festival.
In his lecture at the festival Srila Acharya Maharaj commented that Srila Govinda Maharaj never visited Siliguri, though he planned to come to Siliguri on numerous occasions, yet, now that His murti has appeared, the devotees of Siliguri have the fortune of serving and associating with Srila Govinda Maharaj every day.
